Statement of Faith

We, the members of Rehoboth Covenant Church, affirm our faith in the triune God—the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit—and submit to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and the authority of Holy Scripture. United by the gospel, through which God saves His people, makes believers complete in Christ, and renews all creation, we adopt this Statement of Faith and Code of Doctrine to preserve sound teaching, maintain unity, and guide our worship, ministry, and Christian practice.

  • We believe that the Bible is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God.
  • We believe that there is one God who exists eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ is fully God and fully man, begotten of the Holy Spirit and born of the virgin Mary; that He was crucified, died, and was buried; that He rose again, ascended into heaven, and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
  • We believe that all people are sinners and are in need of salvation, which is received by grace through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ, resulting in the new birth.
  • We believe that upon salvation the Holy Spirit indwells believers, empowering them for holy living and faithful Christian witness.
  • We believe that the baptism in the Holy Spirit is a distinct experience subsequent to salvation, resulting in empowerment for service, the giving of spiritual gifts, and the production of the fruit of the Spirit in believers for the edification of the body of Christ.
  • We believe that the church is called to worship God, make disciples, proclaim the gospel, and serve others in the power of the Holy Spirit.
  • We believe that believer’s baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances instituted by Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that divine healing is sought through prayer in the name of Jesus Christ.
  • We believe that Jesus Christ will return again; that the dead in Christ will be raised; that believers who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them to meet the Lord Jesus Christ in the air; that all people shall stand before God in judgment; and that God will establish His eternal kingdom in its fullness.
